All Richter Straps are designed individually and therefore absolutely one-of-a-kind. Our custom-made premium products meet the highest demands of musicians and emphasize the aesthetics of every precious instrument. Richter Guitar Straps are exclusively handmade in Germany to guarantee outstanding quality and functionality. Naturally, we only use the finest and clearest leather materials available on the market. Our product concept means consequent continuation of stellar instrument designs with exclusive wood and hardware. Customers taking no pleasure in conventional guitar straps made from fabric, standard or artificial leather will consider Richter Guitar Straps as completely satisfying solution.

Richter Guitar Straps represent only the most exclusive materials. All exterior surfaces and belt parts consist of finest and clearest buffalo belting leather. This type of leather can be identified by its thick, firm feel and smooth finish. It is 100 % vegetable tanned and aniline dyed – this means an extremely eco-friendly production process. The smooth tight grain character results from a unique blend of vegetable tannage adds.
Our buffalo belting leather is oiled or waxed and dyed extensively and entirely by hand. The transformation from raw hide to processable leather takes about twelve weeks.
This enormous but very worthwhile amount of work is responsible for the outstanding quality and exquisite visual appearance of the complete Richter product range.
A complete buffalo hide measures about 4.5 sqm. Our belting leather is produced by cutting off all shoulder and belly parts, resulting in the so-called croupon as premium part of the hide. This “filet piece” normally measures only 1.5 sqm. Our extreme in-house quality standards strictly exclude usage of the remaining hide parts for Richter Guitar Straps. For the same reason, all cutting and sewing is exclusively done by hand. Only about 50 % of the already small croupon are actually cut out. That’s why the term “filet piece” really works without exaggeration.
In addition, all Richter Guitar Straps feature an internal microfibre padding. Of course, this breathable high-tech material does not lose any color. The handmade premium quality of Richter Guitar Straps entirely bases on traditional German craftsmanship – from raw material and cutting to sewing and hardware installation. Handmade pieces of highest value never appear sterile or artificial – thanks to a superb symbiosis of amazing visual appearance, formidable feel and natural charme.
